McCormick declared winner in Harrison’s Second Ward Council race

HARRISON —Steve McCormick has officially been declared the winner of the Harrison Second Ward Council race, his opponent Art Pettigew said this morning. While the official vote difference was not immediately known, Pettigrew said he wishes McCormick well as the new councilman.

Jersey’s Senate candidates engage in lively debate

U.S. Sen. Robert Menendez, D-Hoboken and State Sen. Tom Kean Jr., R-Westfield, engaged in a lively debate this morning.

The debate was sponsored by WCBS-TV of New York and KYW-TV of Philadelphia. Much of it involved yelling and finger-pointing by both candidates.
