Where did all the cats come from?
This was certainly an interesting week. Nothing was more bizarre, though, than the fire at 82 McKinley St. in Nutley early Wednesday morning.
Ironically, I already had an appointment at the Nutley Fire Department with Deputy Chief Fred Scalera. He and I were to be working on a story about the department’s HAZ-MAT and Arson units. [...]

Cat-fire update: 34 of 85 cats dead
Of the 85 cats found at a Wednesday fire at 82 McKinley St. in Nutley, fire Lt. David Wilson now says 34 have died, 51 were rescued and an unknown number escaped while firefighters put out the fire. A Perfect World Cat Rescue and the Bloomfield-Bukowski Animal Shelter now have the living cats.

Cat-fire update: 85 cats were in house
There were at least 85 cats living in a house that caught fire Wednesday at 82 McKinley St., Nutley, according to Nutley Fire Lt. David Wilson.
